DETROIT – State Representative Bert Johnson's (D - Detroit) unprecedented State of the Community Address is shaping up to be quite a momentous occasion, with Rep. Johnson being joined by a host of other state and local leaders to address the citizens of District 5, which includes Highland Park, Hamtramck and Detroit, on May 22, 2008.
Rep. Johnson will discuss issues that are important to the community, including insurance, foreclosure, healthcare, crime and education, among other things.
"This is the first State of the Community Address in
Johnson also said he will make an important announcement regarding insurance issues affecting residents of District 5.
"The insurance industry should no longer be given a free pass to overcharge our citizens," Johnson said. "There is not enough competition in the industry and the consumer is suffering."
