LANSING – State Representative David E. Rutledge (D-Ypsilanti) today announced that he will be holding his first in a series of regular coffee hours to meet with residents of the 54th House District this Friday, March 4, in South Lyon.

“I look forward to hearing from residents throughout our community,” said Rutledge. “This is an opportunity for me to meet informally with residents to talk one-on-one about their thoughts and concerns regarding state government issues and how I can help.”

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Salem-South Lyon District Library, 9800 Pontiac Trail in South Lyon. Rutledge will hold coffee hours regularly throughout the district, including upcoming events in Ypsilanti Township, the city of Ypsilanti, Superior Township, and Augusta Township.

“State government needs feedback from the public to function well,” Rutledge added. “As a new legislator, I want to hear what’s on our residents’ minds so that I can better represent our community in Lansing. I look forward to meeting more of our neighbors and I hope people will attend my coffee hour.”
